Ama (sea women) are female free divers, renowned for their skills in pearl collecting and harvesting seafood—a tradition and culture that stretches back over 2,000 years in Japan. Few people get to see them in action, but this unique dinner experience allows you to see them up close, thanks to a giant aquarium in the restaurant's center. Dine on a delicious hotpot dinner, customized to your tastes, with 15-minute performances by the divers every hour. The restaurant aims to provide divers with work during their off-season, and also promote the cultural practice, preserving it for future generations. Fresh seafood delivered directly from the source and premium Kuroge Wagyu, prepared in your preferred style. From individual hot pots like shabu-shabu and sukiyaki to hamayaki (grilled seafood) and yakiniku, you can enjoy a dish made just for you.
Watch a traditional ama (female free diver) demonstration held in the restaurant’s giant aquarium. From the moment she holds her breath and dives to the harvesting of seafood, you can witness the essence of the ancient ama diving culture passed down through generations.
